Reception Fee

House bill 170 (O.R.C. 2929.38) was signed into law and became effective September 6, 2002. This law permits jails to charge a one time "Reception Fee" to any person who has plead guilty or has been convicted of any offense. The law permits this fee to be removed from the prisoner's account. The fee is to reimburse the cost for processing a prisoner into the facility. The fee at this facility is $25.00. Any person who has plead guilty or been convicted of an offense as of January 1, 2003 will be assessed this fee.
