Preble County Sheriff's Office

The communications section of the Preble County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for dispatching all police, fire and emergency squads in Preble County, with the exception of the City of Eaton. It is also the reception point for all 9-1-1 calls placed in the county, outside the City of Eaton.

6 full time dispatchers and several part time dispatchers staff this division. The dispatchers must field calls from citizens for service, 9-1-1 emergency calls, as well as radio traffic from all the agencies and departments in Preble County. The communications center is often a very busy place!

The communications center recently underwent a complete renovation, bringing our facility up to date with state of the art computerized dispatching equipment. This upgrade will allow the addition of many new features, and coupled with new computer aided dispatch programs soon to be implemented, the quality of service to both the public and the various agencies in Preble County will be greatly enhanced.

Thanks to the Preble County Commissioners and the 9-1-1 Advisory Board for funding these much needed upgrades.
